Full course description
5 PD Hours
In Part 1 of this 3-part workshop, participants will see an example of how a simple, stand-alone website can provide the framework for a virtual classroom either on its own or as a complement to an in-person or Google Classroom. They will begin to map out their own site.
Between sessions, in Part 2, participants will have the opportunity to begin building and editing their own sites, with or without a provided template. The presenter will be available to assist as needed, but encourages participants to tinker and explore on their own as much as possible.
In Part 3, participants will be invited to share and discuss their draft websites. They will consider how to use their sites as a space in which to engage students with learning materials and connect to independent study platforms. Finally, they will explore how to use the website to enhance not only technology skills essential for immediate student success, but also how to foster students’ use of technology to find, evaluate, create, organize, and share digital information.
