This engaging course provides an introduction to the ABE Content Standards for English Language Arts (ELA) described in the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRSAE) and how to use them to provide standards-based instruction in the ABE classroom.
How: This self-paced course is composed of readings, videos, and activities designed to help you put the CCRSAE for ELA and key instructional shifts into practice. The course provides an introduction to the ELA standards, explains the importance of the three instructional shifts prompted by the standards, and covers helpful resources and teaching strategies to address the three instructional shifts in your teaching practice.
Note that this course is newly updated! If you took the previous version of Recipe for Success, however, you do not need to enroll in this course unless you'd like a refresher.
