This self-paced, online course offered by Newsela is meant to deepen your understanding of the Newsela platform and provide you with guidance on practicing literacy skills, building background knowledge and including diverse perspectives in your learning experiences. Learners will design a research-based learning experience proven to accelerate student achievement by following the 4 Ps: Prepare, Preview, Practice and Process. This course will include live modeling and independent practice. After completion of the course, you will earn five hours of professional learning credit, a certificate of completion, signature badge, and access to a community of educators.
