In this informative, hands-on, collaborative course, we will explore the application of Generative AI (GenAI) tools to meet the specific needs of your students. Together, we will learn about generative AI through a balanced lens, exploring both the potential of using GenAI along with the pitfalls that it introduces.
In the first session, we will introduce “camp rules'' intended to guide us in the ethical application of GenAI. We’ll also learn practical and effective strategies for using tools like ChatGPT to develop resources that address the specific needs of adult education teachers and their learners.
The second session will include a short showcase in which you will share your obstacles, reflections, and successes. We’ll work together to refine your strategies and extract key learnings that can be shared with other adult educators and students.
In the third session, we will discuss AI literacy. We’ll shift our perspective toward students and brainstorm ways that you can integrate GenAI digital skill sets into your teaching.
Between sessions, you are encouraged to complete the practicum component to apply your new skills in the use of a Gen AI-enabled tool to support instruction and reflect on the output.
