Full course description
1.5 PD Hrs
After building a foundation with benchmarks, CALM then goes on to develop conceptual understanding of operations with these numbers. This 90-minute virtual workshop will focus on the unifying theme of all of those units, the idea that operations with fractions, decimals, and percents all build on an understanding of operations with whole numbers. You will participate in a CALM activity involving multiplication of fractions and reflect on what is true about multiplication for any type of numbers. In addition, CALM support workshops are a time to meet and share ideas with other teachers. Participants will also have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one follow-up coaching sessions with the facilitator, if desired.
While registrants are not required to attend a CALM Orientation and/or participate in the asynchronous CALM Introduction to participate in the CALM Support Series, we strongly encourage them to do so. The Support Series builds from the prior knowledge gained in the other CALM offerings.
CALM professional development may be bundled to receive Professional Development Points (PDPs). Learn more here.
