Full course description

1.5 PD Hrs

Area models are one of the first major topics covered in CALM, appearing in the very first unit and forming a foundation that is built on throughout the curriculum. In this 90-minute workshop, you will try area models for yourself and to reflect on their use in demonstrating important multiplication concepts. Participants will also have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one follow-up coaching sessions with the facilitator, if desired.

While registrants are not required to attend a CALM Orientation and/or participate in the asynchronous CALM Introduction to participate in the CALM Support Series, we strongly encourage them to do so. The Support Series builds from the prior knowledge gained in the other CALM offerings.

CALM professional development may be bundled to receive Professional Development Points (PDPs). Learn more here.
